Design Room: Reindeer Smocking
As with many of Little English's designs, the smocking on our Reindeer Collection was inspired by a vintage dress worn by the sweet children in our designer Shannon Latham's family.
Shannon's sister hand-smocked the adorable reindeer and her nieces wore this dress for several family Christmas celebrations when they were little girls. Our mother-daughter design duo pulled this sweet dress out of the attic to use as inspiration for this year's most popular Christmas Collection.
Shannon and Dunn (our mother-daughter design duo) took this smocking plate and sent it to our manufacturer in El Salvador to use as a guide. All our smocking is created by hand by women in South America. These women are able to work from home, giving them freedom to care for their families while earning an income. Plus, they use the incredible skills passed down for generations!
From there, Shannon and Dunn chose a coordinating green corduroy fabric to freshen up the vintage look. The result is a stunning collection of Christmas children's wear that will become heirloom pieces for your family to pass down for generations to come!
What do you think of the result? We may be biased, but we adore it! Shop this holiday collection here before it's all gone!
