A Conversation with Luciana Emilia

We sat down with Luciana to learn more about the woman behind the brand, her journey into design, and what inspires her most.
1. What inspired you to start Luciana Emilia?
Luciana Emilia was inspired by my own wedding that took place on the slopes of Deer Valley, Utah. I designed my own gown as well as the bridesmaids and my mother's. Following the wedding I became inundated with requests which sparked the idea of launching LE.
2. Did you always know you wanted to be a founder? If not, what changed?
I don't think I always knew I wanted to be a founder, but I've always known I have a clear sense of style and wanted to create something meaningful with it. Over time, that desire evolved into building a brand that reflects my love for timeless design, family and the magical moments that shape our lives. Becoming a mother especially deepened that perspective and gave me a clear sense of purpose in what I wanted to create and share.
3. As a mom to two young children, how do you balance motherhood with running your own business?
It's not easy and looks different everyday! Some days feel more balanced than others and I've come to embrace that. Motherhood has shaped the way I run my business in staying intentional, reminding myself to slow down and create with poise and purpose.
4. How would you describe your personal style?
Classic, timeless and tailored… with an effortless feel!
5. At its core, the Little English x Luciana Emilia capsule collection is about honoring life's special moments and making memories with loved ones. What is one of your favorite memories of motherhood?
I feel some of the simplest moments have been the most memorable. Most recently, we put the kids in cozy sweats, picked up our favorite takeout and headed down to Coronado beach for a dinner picnic. We ran around and watched the sunset… It was messy and fun, and one of those truly memorable evenings!
6. What is your favorite Luciana Emilia piece and favorite piece in the LExLE capsule?
My favorite Luciana Emilia piece is our High Tea Collar dress in Large Blue Check paired with my daughter wearing the LExLE Peter Pan Formal Dress. The entire look is just so darling!
