Hand Smocked Dress

Little English stamps every dress with “attention to detail”. The quality starts in our fabric selection of Brazilian cottons. In the springtime we use seersuckers all in candy colored stripes and summertime ginghams. In the fall we use soft classic cotton ginghams and soft washed corduroys accompanied with our fabulously soft cotton flannels. Then we add adorable hand smocked designs in beautiful color waves and top it with a touch of whimsy with our freshened dress patterns from days gone by. All to deliver the perfect Little English dress and look.

Our bishops are hand smocked of the softest Brazilian cotton all adorned with our storybook designs. Each hand smocked children's design is hand drawn by designer/owner Shannon Cowles Latham. Little English works with only the sweetest of color threads to embellish their designs and dresses helping them stay true to the designer's southern heritage and taste. Each bishop dress is back smocked by hand and then hand smocked on top of the dress with beautiful geometric smocking. This allows each dress with a smocked design to have a complete smocked background allowing each smocked design to pop off the fabric. Little English adds this extra handwork on every dress to ensure consistency within the line. Quality and attention to detail are at the heart of every Little English hand smocked dress. Simple, classic and true to its original pattern, this Peter pan collared dress is perfect for Easter and Christmas parties as well as any church, tea, or special occasion dress. The Peter pan collared dress sits 2" below the knee and has a beautiful tie sash to complete the back of this classic children’s dress. Each dress carries our signature clear Little English buttons to create the legacy dress each mother hopes to have for her daughter. This dress might be hand smocked or simply run in one of Little English’s fabulous cotton fabrics.
